Physical therapy for orthopedic conditions

The physical therapy in terms of orthopedic conditions focuses on treating or rehabilitating diseases and injuries of the movement system which includes muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments. Physical therapy is effective when treating orthopedic conditions that cause pain, swelling and decreased functionality. Each operation should be preceded and followed by physical therapy.

There is a tendency to resolve joint issues arthroscopically, upon the approval of the orthopedist or traumatologist. However, there are more complex interventions such as shoulder, hip or knee replacements. Apart from dealing with injuries, orthopedics deals with diseases like scoliosis, kyphosis, fallen arches, osteoporosis, osteopenia etc.
